AFFORDABLE CLEAN ENERGY
COOKING ENERGY IN UGANDA
About 90% of the primary energy consumption in Uganda is generated through biomass, which can be separated in firewood 78.6%, charcoal 5.6% and crop residues 4.7%. Wood fuels are largely used for cooking in rural areas while charcoal mostly provides for the cooking needs of the urbann population. In recent times a few households have adopted the use of briquettes and resuable magma rocks.
The high demand for wood fuels used inefficiently results in overuse and depletion of forests.Very few people plant trees as most of the land is used for crop cultivation.
Traditional use of firewood is responsible for high indoor air pollution levels which cause respiratory diseases that mainly affect women and children.
The production of charcoal is carried out under primitive conditions with extremely low efficiency. 9kgs of firewood produce 1kg of charcoal.
The above background laid ground for our efficient and clean cooking energy solutions. Most people do not know that its their responsibility to conserve the environment and those that do don't know where to get the stoves from. Save Energy Uganda comes in to bridge that gap.
Our stoves are efficient, durable and affordable. We target the normal Ugandan household giving them a chance to use good quality, durable and efficient stoves. Thus ensuring access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all
